Swiss Music Fest in Sarasota, Nov 4th, 2016

38 members and guests of our club participated. It was a wonderful and amazing event. We were greeted at the reception from the Swiss General Consul of Atlanta with his wife in the court yard of the Riverview High School. It was a pleasant sunny evening. The members of the Streichmusik Alder were also mingling with the members of the different Swiss Clubs. It was an opportunity to admire the “Trachten” of the musicians closely and get some insider information about the concert. The concert started at 7 p.m. and finished shortly before 10 p.m. The audience was amazed not only by the performance of the Swiss musicians, but also by the Sarasota Concert Band. The STAR of the evening was the beautiful young Alphornblower Lisa Stoll – she stole the show! She gave an unbelievable performance. It was a great evening and a highlight event for our Club. We thank the General Consul Andreas Maager, the board of the Swiss American Club of Sarasota and Sepp Gmuender for their invitation and the generous sponsorship of the Swiss Musik Fest.
