Bowling Challenge 2026 – Pins, Pizza & Glory

A small group of Swiss American Club bowlers assembled at Gator Lanes in Fort Myers for the annual battle of skill and luck.

With last year’s champion, Walter, safely en-route to Switzerland, the coveted Wanderpokal was up for grabs.

At 4 p.m., the competition began. Bowling balls thundered down the lanes while cheers, laughter, and the occasional groan echoed across the lane. Some balls found the pins with remarkable precision. Others appeared to be conducting independent sightseeing tours of the gutters.

Fortunately, the pizza buffet arrived just in time. Armed with pizza slices in one hand and drinks in the other, competitors returned to the lanes.

As the evening progressed, the mood became noticeably more competitive. Friendly smiles were replaced by intense concentration. Every pin mattered. Every frame counted. The question on everyone’s mind was:

Who would become the new guardian of the famous Bowling Wanderpokal?

After two hours of fierce competition, the final scores were tallied.

Hanspeter claimed the championship and earned the honor of dusting the Wanderpokal for the next year.

Brigitte bowled her way into second place.

Andrea secured a well-deserved third place finish.

With trophies awarded, bragging rights established, and pizza supplies diminished, everyone stayed a little longer to chat, laugh, and relive their best and worst throws of the evening.

Congratulations to all participants! We look forward to seeing everyone at our next event.
