At 17:45, our President, Joe Huber, welcomed all 49 members and one guests to the 26th General Assembly of our vibrant club. He briefly explained the reason behind the choice to hold the meeting at The Club at Gateway. We were all happy with a previous event held in this location and decided to return. Our General Assembly meeting would normally be held in March but due to availability of the venue, we had to move it to April.

A special thanks and recognition was given to Peter Moser, a founding member of the club, former President and honorary member. Thank you Peter for all you have done for the club.

The president went on to welcome two new recent members, Lukas and Teresa Krapf-Dobr and our only guest, Gertrud Kistler who is the sister of our Treasurer.

The General Assembly followed the usual format with reports from our Director of IT/Media who read last year’s minutes, the Treasurer and Membership Director, our Auditor, and our Director of Events.

The president went on to put forward the motion to nominate Hans Wenger as honorary member of the club. Hans has been with the club since its beginning, serving many years on the board and most recently as Vice President. He has now stepped down from his board duties. The nomination to honorary member was approved unanimously by all members. Thank you very much Hans for your many years of service and contributions to the club. We look forward seeing you at the next event as a honorary member.

The last item presented by the President was the wonderful cow bell offered to the club by Vreni Gerber’s estate. Initially the President offered the cow bell to any interested member but then, a motion by Hellmuth Steinlin was put forward that the cow bell shall remain the property of the club and be present at all future general assembly meetings. This motion was seconded by Markus Abrecht, Chris Zoebeli and others, and a subsequent vote approved the motion. We are very happy to have this cow bell as an official component of our future meetings.

The meeting was ajurned at 18:30 and was followed by a wonderful buffet of delicious food options. Everybody had a nice time and enjoyed the time we could spend amongst friends.
