Sunset Cruise – Sailing into the sunset
Our annual sunset cruise was fully booked. Members and guests gathered at Salty Sam’s Marina in Fort Myers, ready for an evening of fun and breathtaking views. After a brief rundown of emergency procedures, we lifted anchor.
Joe kicked off the event with a warm welcome, introducing our guests and presenting the Minigolf Wanderpokal to this year’s winner, Chris Stern. The bar opened, and the club-sponsored white wine began to flow, adding a touch of elegance to our Happy Hour cruise. Glasses in hand, we cruised towards the iconic Sanibel Island, reveling in the tranquil beauty of the Gulf.
As the sun dipped below the horizon, the sky transformed into vibrant colors, offering a spectacular backdrop that inspired everyone to pause and capture the moment in photos.
With the sunset behind us, we looped back, picking up speed for a breezy return to homeport. Back at the marina, the evening continued at Parrot Key Restaurant, where we indulged in delicious dinner options. The lively chatter and upbeat music created a spirited ambiance, bringing the perfect close to the evening.
