The two event directors Urs Pfister, Lily Kraft and their helpers met at 10 am at Lakes Park in Fort Myers to set up for the Easter Picknick. It was a very windy day and challenging to set up and decorate the tables. So, our member Werner Christinger to the rescue! He came up with the glorious idea to use his Staple Gun. By the time the guests arrived all was ready. Lily’s brother-in-law Mark visiting from Goldau, Switzerland got the grill going and all was ready for the party. We had a record picnic attendance this year, 43 people. The reason was probably the ideal nice and cool weather, ideal for outside activities. Everybody enjoyed themselves. The highlight was of course again the popular dessert buffet thanks to all the amazing home bakers of our club. Our members do enjoy home baked Swiss style cakes! In addition Urs Pfister got creative and brought in a basket full of his painted Easter eggs. He shared them with other attendees to compete in the “Eiertütsch. A fun activity being enjoyed traditionally by Swiss people during Easter time. After filling our bellies and catching up with friends we all left around 2 pm.
